Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987649 Composed by Harry L. Alford. Arranged by Philip Orem. 20th Century,Holiday,Patriotic. Score and parts. 72 pages. Freedom Band Press #48513. Published by Freedom Band Press (A0.987649). This commemorative march comes from the prolific Harry Alford and was written for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. Alford was a pioneering arranger whose business cataloged some 34,000 custom arrangements until his death in 1939. At the time it was said that This man Alford can slip unobserved into almost any theater in America, and be sure that somewhere in the musical part of the program he is going to hear several of his arrangements. Some of his most famous band marches include Glory of the Gridiron and Purple Carnival.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.980852 Composed by Richard Nathan Shorten. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Shorten Studio Utah #3570593. Published by Shorten Studio Utah (A0.980852). SATB with piano. 2 min. + 30 sec. Lyrics by John M. Chamberlain, 1844-1928, with some changes and additions by the composer as noted in the sheet music. A very rousing piece, like a march, spurring us on to walk toward heaven. Even though the lyrics have been toned down by the composer, this song mentions work required to reach heaven so it is not for Christians who believe in a living faith without works.

Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 for Trombone (Euphonium) and Piano
Trombone et Piano
Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1043239 Composed by Edward Elga…
(+)
Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1043239 Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Instructional,Patriotic,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 18 pages. Diego Marani #647927. Published by Diego Marani (A0.1043239). The best known March of the set, it had its premiere in Liverpool on 19 October 1901, with Elgar conducting the Liverpool Orchestral Society. The Trio contains the tune known as Land of Hope and Glory. In 1902 the tune was re-used, in modified form, for the Land of hope and glory section of his Coronation Ode for King Edward VII. The words were further modified to fit the original tune, and the result has since become a fixture at the Last Night of the Proms, and an English sporting anthem. In the United States, the Trio section Land of Hope and Glory of March No. 1 is often known simply as Pomp and Circumstance or as The Graduation March and is played as the processional tune at virtually all high school and some college graduation ceremonies. It was first played at such a ceremony on 28 June 1905, at Yale University, where the Professor of Music Samuel Sanford had invited his friend Elgar to attend commencement and receive an honorary doctorate of music. Elgar accepted, and Sanford made certain he was the star of the proceedings, engaging the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the College Choir, the Glee Club, the music faculty members, and New York musicians to perform two parts from Elgar's oratorio The Light of Life and, as the graduates and officials marched out, Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1. Elgar repaid the compliment by dedicating his Introduction and Allegro to Sanford later that year. The tune soon became de rigueur at American graduations, used primarily as a processional at the opening of the ceremony. This arrangement for trombone or euphonium (C and Bb) with piano is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.

Cello,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1037970 Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Instructional,Patriotic,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 15 pages. Diego Marani #642890. Published by Diego Marani (A0.1037970). This arrangement for cello with piano is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1004394 Composed by Larry Williams. Contemporary. Score and parts. 21 pages. Larry Andrew Williams #3533215. Published by Larry Andrew Williams (A0.1004394). Old Glory is a nickname for the flag of the United States. The original Old Glory was a flag owned by the 19th-century American sea captain William Driver (March 17, 1803 â March 3, 1886), who flew the flag during his career at sea and later brought it to Nashville, Tennessee, where he settled. That of course, is the historic description. (From Wikipedia) Part of a larger work entitled, An American Salutation this piece was written in commemoration of the flag and for the people it represents.Patriotic in its sound, Old Glory would be suggested for any historic American holiday or function, i.e., Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, etc and gives one a proud feeling when played. Also makes a nice addition to any brass quintet program.

This choral SATB arrangement of The Battle Hymn of the Republic attempts to capture the sense of glory and victory of the text as well as the military character of the original. Julia Ward Howe's lyrics, Mine eyes have seen the glory.., were inspired by a military review during the American civil war, where the melody, John Brown's body.., was sung.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1377034 Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Marcus Martin. 20th Century,March,Patriotic,Praise and Worship. 99 pages. Cornelius Edition (uk) #961638. Published by Cornelius Edition (uk) (A0.1377034). This famous march, regularly performed at u.k. 'The Last Night of the Proms' was composed in 1901. The words 'Land of Hope and Glory' were added to the trio section in 1902 by A C Benson. This section is traditionally associated with USA high school and college graduation ceremonies. This version is for full symphony orchestra.  2 Piccolos, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets, 2 Bassoons,  4 horns, 2 Trumpets (or Cornets) 3 Trombones, Tuba, Organ, Harp, Percussion and Strings.  However 2nd Piccolo, 3rd and 4th Horns, Harp and Organ are all 'ad lib' and in general the arrangement is effective with the omission of some of the other wind and brass at the conductor's discretion. A full score and all parts are included with alternative Bb parts for Clarinet and Trumpet.

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.733041 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Marc Oliver. Contemporary. Score and parts. 55 pages. Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings #2347503. Published by Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings (A0.733041). The Revival March may not sound familiar to you but dont be alone. John Philip Sousa wrote it in 1876 probably at the tender age of 21 (he was born on Monday 6 November 1854 in Washington D. C.). Even at this point in his life about 4 years prior to his being appointed the 17th Director of the United States Marine Band Sousas writing style was already established. He also had traces of savvy for what the audiences wanted to hear for he used the hymn In the Sweet By and By as the melody for the trio (he did a similar trick later in his life when he used Onward Christian Soldiers written by his good friend Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan of Gilbert and Sullivan fame as the melody of the trio for his march Power and Glory).
